Chairman: Ndzavi Derrick

Derrick is the founder of Mentors Without Borders. He is a Certified Business Advisor with Institute of Business Advisors SA which is SAQA regulated.  A SETA trained Facilitator and Assessor.  He is a Non-Executive Board Member at IBASA and Marketing Committee Chair.  Derrick Studied Business Management and has mentorship/advisory experience of 20 years, the last company he worked for was Discovery Health which inspired him to start New DiscoveryBS.  He worked with small businesses and various organisations in development, planning and strategies aimed at advancing entrepreneurship. Derrick has developed an APP as self taught developer, RechargeMyBiz which connects Mentors/Advisors/Experts with Entrepreneurs and is found on Google Play. The APP was motivated by a need to engage with his over 300k social media platforms followers directly.

He has worked with GEP and other government departments offering Mentorship, advices and strategy, he worked with Private sector such as Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP) -  Mentorship Programe and Pitch Booster, Institute of Business Advisors – Heading Mentorship Project, South African Turkey Business Association (SATBA) - International Relations Facilitator, Water Research Commission (WRC) and  Department Of Water and Sanitation - Women In Water Mentorship Programme Manager, Ekurhuleni Business Facilitation – IBASA Resident Advisor, Growthwheel – Sasol Enterprise Development Program Business Advisor, 67CEOs Foundation and Exxaro – Head Of Mentorship, FNB Social Entrepreneurship Impact Lab Program, University Of Pretoria SMME Portal Mentor.  He also mentors and advices individuals who want to start businesses and those already in businesses locally and internationally. He is regularly featured on TV and Radio talking about Entrepreneurship and Enterprise development. He is often booked to speak at seminars and Institutions of learning addressing students on Entrepreneurship.  He does facilitate events and featured in panel discussions.  He is an adjudicator/judge for Entrepreneurs Pitching sessions helping organisations make decision on the prize winners.  He is also the Author of Two Books: BUSINESS TIPS TO MY DAUGHTER and BUSINESS TIPS TO MY SON, he writes Business Articles regularly.  HERE is the full Profile 


Managing Director: Mpho Mpatane

Head of Finance and Operations


Mpho is an ambitious, serial business and social entrepreneur who prides herself on being a great implementer of what she puts her mind to. She is the Founder of Phepha Solutions Group and Letlotlo Agriculture and Projects Pty Ltd.  Mpho studied Cost and Management accounting which comes handy when it comes to running an organization.

Mpho Patience Mpatane is a serial entrepreneur who believes that the road to success is paved with curve balls, hurricanes, dry spells and all other factors that sharpens the human spirit to be resilient. On the entrepreneurial journey one does fall, not only once but multiple times, what matters most is how you get up every time you fall and the lessons you learn from those challenges. Mpho is:

  • Goal-driven, detail-oriented and enthusiastic about providing exceptional service to meet goals
  • Has excellent verbal communication, communication skills (writing, editing and proofing)

Women empowerment is what gets Mpho’s heart beating and what keeps her motivated. Proving to the female youth from her hometown that nothing is impossible, and where you come from does not have to determine your future is at the forefront of her goals.  Helping the less fortunate is close to Mpho’s heart. She started helping at Reshape Care Givers, a PBO situated in Protea Glen, Soweto while being a student at the University of Johannesburg/ She still volunteers, and helps them with accessing help from wherever possible. Mpho volunteered to give back to her community by clubbing with a group of her friends and donated school shoes to the needy. She continues to try to assist wherever she can help, whomever she can help, whenever possible.


IT and Communication Director: Pfumelani Manganye

He is a graduate with Bsc (Computer Sciences and Applied Mathematics) degree.  Pfumelani has experience in IT and communication as he worked for various organisations such as Rand water where he created High Level Design and Blue Print for the Portal Implementation SAP Upgrade.  He was involved in different phase in project life cycle like Requirement Gathering, Analysis, Design, Development, Unit Testing, UAT, User Trainings.

He was responsible for organizing meetings with the functional and counterparty teams to gather the requirements Management System   He brings this experience for the effectiveness of Mentors Without Borders. His good Interpersonal relation, independent thinking will help take the organization to new levels and deliver on its mandate.


Trainee Director: Lerato Molepo

Lerato is currently doing her Law Degree and she has drive and passion for social justice and children’s rights.  Her passion and drive will contribute immensely and driving the organisation forward and help achieve its mandate



Trainee Director: Themba Mafumu

Events and Projects


Themba is a young dynamic event planner and organizer.  He is currently running his Decoration company, he has studied as Social Worker and worked as a volunteer in the community.  He also studied project management monitoring and evaluation courses.  He has organizational skills as he has been at the forefront in facilitating and organizing events in the community. He has shown his ability by organizing the memorial gala dinner for his friend who passed away and was able to source service providers and speakers for the event.  His skills will be sharpened and used effectively when it comes to workshops and trainings that the organization will facilitate and any other event as per occasion.
